'Hey Ladies' stitches three early hip-hop vocal samples into an irresistible chorus. 'Sounds of Science' samples three Beatles songs while referencing Isaac Newton and Jesus Christ. Most of it was recorded in Matt Dike's living room. A commercial disappointment in 1989 that is now regarded as a golden-age landmark.
