Gov't Mule's first full-on blues record, cut live in the studio and thick with amp hum. 'Blues Before Sunrise' opens slow and smoky, 'Snatch It Back and Hold It' turns Junior Wells into a wall of Haynes guitar, and 'Make It Rain' drags Tom Waits into a swamp. 'Ain't No Love in the Heart of the City' is the showstopper. Loud, raw, and played for keeps.
