Cavernous and stark, Donda swings between gospel-choir grandeur and stripped-to-the-bone production. 'Hurricane' soars on a wordless choral hook before the bass drops out from under it. 'Jail' grinds on a fuzzed, distorted guitar and a thudding low end. 'Off the Grid' rides skittering drill drums until it explodes.
