The title track got banned in Jamaica the moment it dropped, and the suppression backfired, shoving Tosh onto the world stage. Good thing too, because this is roots reggae at its most raw and unhurried, recorded at Treasure Isle and Randy's in Kingston with the bass and percussion pushed right up front and almost nothing in the way. Tosh wrote it back at the police who kept hounding him, and you can hear the steel in his delivery. Sparse, defiant, built on a groove that refuses to budge. Drop the needle and feel the smoke curl.
