'Magnolia' is Pi'erre Bourne's most hypnotic beat, stripped to a skeletal bounce where Carti's baby-voice ad-libs become the hook itself. Bourne famously made the beat on a laptop in a car on the way to Zaxby's. 'wokeuplikethis*' with Lil Uzi Vert is trance-like and almost meditative. 'Location' shimmers with Harry Fraud's dreamy, underwater production. Carti freestyled most of the songs rather than writing lyrics.
