Cool, slow, and patient, Sade lets every space in a song breathe. The title track marches in on a tense, military snap before her voice glides over the top, equal parts ice and warmth. "Babyfather" rides a lazy, sun-warmed lilt, while "The Moon and the Sky" aches with restraint, the band holding back until it almost hurts. Nobody else makes longing sound this composed.
